However, in the majority of cases, they do not know what direct selling is, nor what the status of Independent Sales Representative (ISR) represents. Easy money, arranged contracts... you hear all sorts of things about ISR. Just take a look at some blogs or forums to read rumors, misleading information, classified ads offering "dream" jobs for a hefty payment.

First and foremost, you should know – and this is the main purpose of our guide – that the ISR status is regulated by extremely precise laws, notably by the Commercial Code. Some direct selling companies, true "money-making machines," may interpret the Commercial Code in a condemnable manner, while others operate very seriously, constantly striving to develop and enrich their network both literally and figuratively. Our company, Elora, is a very active member of the Direct Selling Federation (DSF), advocating transparency and ensuring compliance with the DSF's code of ethics. Therefore, before embarking on direct selling, make sure to verify if your prospective company is a member of the DSF. If so, you can be assured of being able to conduct your business under the best conditions, safely and legally. You absolutely must read it before starting your activity.
Being an independent home seller is a real job..
Whether you're looking for extra income or a full-time job, being an Independent Sales Representative (ISR) is a real profession. A profession that can indeed earn you a very good living. Want a concrete example? To earn the equivalent of the minimum wage at Elora, you typically need to host two sales meetings per week, which amounts to about two afternoons of work, totaling approximately 6 hours of work per week... far from the 35-hour minimum wage encountered in other types of activities. This is a reality.

However, speaking of reality, many independent sales representatives earn a living as well as corporate executives. Remember one thing, if it were easy to earn €10,000 per month, everyone in France would be doing direct sales...
My vision of the Independent Home Salesperson
Let's take a moment to revisit the profession of Independent Sales Representative. To succeed, you'll need to prospect for clients, host sales meetings, retain your customers, and, above all, enjoy sharing moments of conviviality, each time unique. For Elora, training is a key element of success in Direct Selling... because, working in home sales is a profession like any other. It requires skill, discipline, professionalism, energy, and passion. The only difference from other activities is that your income is not capped. Many employees from large corporations claim that they don't benefit from record profits and only receive crumbs. They should come work in Direct Selling because the remuneration is proportional to the efforts made! Do you think our top saleswomen - who have executive salaries (choosing their hours, taking two or three months of vacation per year) - would trade their situation with saleswomen in stores earning minimum wage for 35 hours of work per week, working 6 days a week, or even Sundays during the holiday season?!rnrnI think you know the answer.rnrnWhy don't these people join Direct Selling? Probably because they don't know about us. But a good salesperson will always be a good salesperson.
