Need extra income?
HOW CAN I EARN EXTRA MONEY AT HOME?
31 OCTOBER 2018
In many companies, it's difficult to negotiate a significant pay rise. Even if you manage to tip the balance in your favour, you'll usually have to wait a while before you see the money in your bank account.
If you really need to earn money, find a job that will give you the extra income you need, such as working in home sales.
1/ Find a complementary activity that you enjoy
There's a simple answer to the question "How can I supplement my income?": find a sideline that suits you and that you enjoy!
First and foremost, bear in mind that if you're looking for a job to supplement your main income, it shouldn't be a burden. It's crucial that you enjoy the work, because you'll be all the better for it... and so will your additional income.
Do you love shopping and women's fashion in general? Then you'll love working with Elora! We're offering you the chance to work as an independent door-to-door salesperson (VDI).
We'll make our chic, feminine collections available to you so that you can offer them to your network of customers.
What could be more fun than selling clothes when you love shopping to earn extra income?
2/ Look for an additional income that's compatible with your work
Some activities are not always compatible with all jobs (permanent, fixed-term or temporary). So you need to choose a self-employed activity that can be combined with your employment contract.
The status of home-based sales assistant is fully compatible with another job. You are allowed to hold 2 jobs at the same time, unless you work for a professional association (medical, judicial, etc.). If you work in the civil service, you must ask your line manager for authorisation.
3/ Working from home: weekdays or weekends?
To make your additional activity as a home-based sales assistant easy to manage, draw up a personalised schedule to follow each day. Work according to your availability and try to keep a regular rhythm.
Would you like to earn extra income but are more likely to be available at the weekend? Take advantage of Saturdays and Sundays to organise group meetings at home with your customers. Do you finish early during the week? The end of your day can be a great time to make sales!
4/ Get support for your first steps in home sales
It's not always easy to start out on your own, especially if you've never tried home shopping before. Elora's teams are here to advise you and help you get started with your complementary business.
We'll train you, explaining how to set and manage your targets and helping you to sell and organise your working hours. That way, everything will be easier for you!
5/ Surround yourself with experienced VDI sellers
Staying motivated when you're on your own can be complicated. It's best to be surrounded by people who are doing the same thing as you!
In addition to the support offered by Elora, you'll benefit from a whole network of advisers who will be on hand to share their experiences.
6/ Set yourself motivating goals!
If you really want to earn extra income, you' ll need to set yourself some sales targets. With the help of Elora training, feedback from our advisers and your own availability, you can determine the potential sales figure you can aim for.
All that's left to do is take the plunge and achieve the additional income you've been dreaming of!
