Pant and Jean Trends

2026 brings your wardrobe the grand return of reinvented classics !

Whether in haute couture or ready-to-wear, get ready for a blend of '90s nostalgia and creative, innovative pieces!

Elora deciphers the trends for you, so you can stay at the forefront of fashion... season after season.

We embrace comfort, rich materials, and generous volumes

After the sparkle of Christmas and the whirlwind of the holidays, 2026 is all about renewal, with fluid silhouettes and textured fabrics, allowing every Elora woman, whatever her body shape, to combine comfort and sophistication.

1. The Wide and Structured Pant (Oversized Tailoring)

  • The Trend: The extra-wide tailored pants continue to rise. Forget slim, skinny, and cigarette pants; we’re embracing wide-leg styles, both long and very fluid, fitted at the waist, often pleated or with darts.

  • Key Fabrics: Wool blend, flannel, or thick twill in dark shades (charcoal, navy) or neutrals (camel, ecru).

  • The Detail That Makes the Difference: Waistlines very high-rise or, conversely, ultra-low-rise, but always with a very wide leg.

2. The Barrel Jean (“Barrel” Fit)

  • Embrace the curves: A cross between straight and balloon. The Barrel is fitted at the waist, widens slightly at the thighs and subtly tapers at the ankles. It creates a refined, very on-trend silhouette.

  • Simplicity! Raw denim or a bold vintage wash are preferred, while chinos are losing ground. We’re seeing the return of visible seams to highlight the structure of the design.

3. Leather and Faux Leather (Straight Leg)

  • The timeless favorite: Every woman has at least one pair of leather (or faux leather) pants in her wardrobe. Well, this material is making a strong comeback, but this time in a straight cut and no longer slim. As always, it brings its rich touch and rock-chic vibe to a festive outfit.

  • Its strong point: Perfect for breaking up the classic look of a knit sweater or an oversized blazer.

Summer 2026: Fluidity, Extreme Lengths, and Light Denim

From April, cuts are getting lighter, fabrics are becoming more breathable, and denim shades are getting lighter.

1. Parachute and Cargo (The Return of the 2000s)

  • The runway favorite: The parachute pants (lightweight, fluid, with drawstrings at the waist and ankles) as well as the cargo (with its patch pockets) are making a statement. They follow the Palazzo craze and focus on ultimate comfort, creating a fresh new style streetwear summer-ready.

  • Key Materials: Lightweight cotton, Linen blend, with the notable comeback of nylon. Wear them in light colors (beige, off-white, light khaki).

2. The “Puddle” Jean (Length + Width)

  • The outsider: Length is maximized. The Puddle is both wide and long! It drapes and “floats” gently over your shoes, creating a look that’s both striking and effortlessly relaxed. Pair it with heels to elongate your silhouette, even with its length. Once again, this cut is set to outshine the Palazzo, which will be out next summer...

  • Finishes: The very light washes (sky blue, almost white) will stand out, whether on a terrace, by the pool, or at the beach. As for subtly ripped jeans (light distressed), they’ll be our go-to in the city.

3. The Straight and Relaxed Jean (The Classic)

  • The must-have: This is a timeless favorite that stands strong, transcending every creative trend! The classic straight or flare, slightly cropped or with a raw hem, flatters every body type and remains the foundation of minimalist wardrobes. To embrace the trend, it’s the perfect match for bold tops or oversized blouses.

  • Style Tip: The return of double denim (denim on denim), more on-trend than ever, stands out with a range of shades to mix and match for a modern, personalized touch.

What makes the difference?

The standout element at Fashion Weeks is the placement of the waistline. Whether it’s ultra-high waists (to structure and elongate, sometimes with pleats for a slimming effect...) or, on the contrary, extremely low waists (for a bold, Y2K-inspired look), they’re the highlight of the silhouette.

Now more than ever, choose and accessorize according to your body shape!

  • To structure loose pieces: Define your waist... use a wide belt or tuck in your top.

  • For a modern look: Dare to mix volumes! For example, pair wide puddle pants with a short, fitted top.

Spotlight on key textiles

The Elora woman is more committed than ever to natural, "green" textile fibers. Here’s how!

1. Cotton (Natural, Denim, and Canvas)

Cotton remains the foundational material, but its use is evolving toward more authenticity and texture.

  • Winter 2026 (Denim and Heavyweight Fabrics):

    • Rigid Jeans (100% Cotton): The most on-trend will be those that hold their shape. In line with Flare silhouettes, they’re essential for giving structure to the new models available this year: wide "Barrel" or long "Puddle" jeans that need to keep their form. Dark, untreated raw denim remains a timeless choice.

    • Brushed Cotton or Twill: Mainly used for workwear or cargo-style pants, it combines a relaxed vibe with good structure—perfect for the colder season.

  • Summer 2026 (Lightweight Fabrics):

    • Cotton/Linen: For parachute or relaxed, fluid pants, the cotton/linen blend offers excellent breathability and a chic, sought-after crinkled look.

    • All about softness! For classic straight or Flare pants, lighter cotton fabrics are also available, preferably in ecru or pastel shades.

2. Stretch (The Ally of Subtle Comfort)

Stretch plays a supportive role, but not at any cost. Unlike previous years, when it was blended into almost every other textile fiber to make them stretchy, its role in 2026 is mainly to complement the structured spirit of loose-fitting garments.

  • Limited Role in Trendy Jeans: The most sought-after styles (Barrel, Puddle) favor 100% cotton. However, a very small amount of elastane is still present in blends, especially at the waistband, to allow high-rise fits to adjust gently.

  • Crucial Role in Tailored Cuts: For fluid, oversized suit trousers, with or without pleats, stretch is essential. It allows wool or polyester to keep their perfect drape without losing shape, offering freedom of movement for an active lifestyle.

3. Velvet (Rising Trend)

Far from its old-fashioned image, it’s making a dramatic comeback in the fashion world. It brings texture, warmth, and a touch of luxury to any outfit.

    • Wide Corduroy: Opt for bold, textured wide wales for straight-leg or cargo trousers. The must-have colors are deep: burgundy, forest green, navy, or iced brown.

    • When and how? It’s best chosen for straight or slightly loose styles to give the fabric presence without weighing it down.

    • Glamorous Velvet: For a more spectacular look, you’ll find it in sophisticated, tailored-cut trousers.

4. Viscose (Queen of Summer Fluidity)

Sustainable and eco-friendly, it’s the go-to fabric for elegant, fluid trousers—a key feature for today’s wider styles.

  • Summer 2026 (Fluid Elegance):

    • Wide and Draped Trousers: Pure or blended viscose creates the elegant drape needed for the season’s ultra-wide trousers. It flows beautifully and moves with the body, especially on breezy days when lighter fabrics tend to cling.

    • Colors and Prints: Viscose, which prints beautifully, highlights graphic or floral patterns as well as vibrant summer shades that won’t fade with washing.

    • Advantage: Its ability to mimic a silky look makes it ideal for so-called “Pyjama” trousers or chic loungewear styles.

The Return of Neo-Classic Colors: Brown, Black, Beige, Ecru, Khaki...

These timeless palettes are no longer just “go-with-everything” basics; they’re the stars of the new collection, chosen for their ability to make loose and structured cuts chic and sustainable.

1. Brown (Chocolate, Caramel, Mocha)

Brown is undoubtedly the glamorous alternative to black.

  • Deep chocolate brown is the perfect shade for wide flannel suit trousers or straight-leg raw denim jeans. It’s a softer, warmer, yet equally elegant alternative to black. You’ll also find it often in corduroy trousers.

  • As soon as the warm days arrive, caramel and terracotta shades take center stage for flowy linen or viscose pants, bringing a mineral, Mediterranean warmth.

  • Key pairing: Brown pairs beautifully with beige or ecru (tonal) and forest green/khaki for a nature-inspired look.

2. Black (Minimalist and Structuring)

Black remains a staple, but is used with more restraint and strategy to structure silhouettes.

  • Key use: Black is perfect for highlighting the sharp minimalist style of wide leg pants and straight jeans. It brings a strong, modern look, especially when paired with quality materials (leather, structured wool).

  • Note: Black is often rivaled by anthracite grey or pearl grey (softer) in tailoring cuts.

  • Key pairing: In 2026, we love it with off-white or pops of vibrant color (cobalt blue, canary yellow) to create a sharp, dynamic contrast.

3. Beige (Cream, Ecru, Sand)

Beige is the color of light and minimalist elegance all year round.

  • Cream and off-white shades brighten up heavier fabrics like wool or corduroy. They’re perfect for wide-leg tailored pants, creating a “discreet luxury” effect.

  • Sand and light beige are essentials for parachute pants and wide-leg jeans in lightweight fabrics. These light tones evoke summer, lightness, and vacation vibes.

  • Key pairing: Beige pants are the perfect base for a tonal (monochrome) total look, often elevated with brown leather accessories.

4. Khaki (Military, Olive, and Forest Green)

Khaki, now a must-have, is essential for a workwear and utilitarian look.

  • Forest green stands out on cargo pants or straight-leg trousers in thick cotton or corduroy. This color brings natural sophistication and a chic outdoor vibe... and not just for Christmas!

  • Olive green is perfect for relaxed spring and summer looks, pairing beautifully with white and black.

  • Key pairing: In every season, shades of green pair especially well with camel and black for a modern contrast, or with brown for a nature-inspired harmony.
